Rental Terms & Conditions

Thank you for pursuing a rental instrument from Tom’s Heirloom Violins. Please read through our rental terms and conditions.



1. RENTAL TERMS. Payment is due on the same date each month/ Rental payments are non-refundable. Rental fees will automatically be charged to the credit card on file. Renter authorizes Tom’s Heirloom Violins to: Keep payment method on file/ Charge rental payments, late fees, or other amounts owed/ Payment Method on File: ☐ Card ☐ ACH


2. LATE PAYMENTS. Payments more than 7 days late incur a $20 late fee/ Rental credit is suspended while account is delinquent/ Continued non-payment may result in termination and demand for return


3. INSURANCE. Basic damage protection is included with all instrument rentals. This covers broken strings, scuffs, dents, and varnish issues, as well as bridge, peg, bow re-hair and bow breaks. Under the basic damage protection, Tom’s Heirloom Violins will repair or replace the broken part for free. The customer is responsible for neglect including to but not limited to: leaving the bow tensioned when not using, left in an environment where it is too hot or cold, any loss, theft, or damage to the instrument beyond normal wear and tear


4. RENT-TO-OWN CREDIT (IF APPLICABLE). 100% of rental payments apply toward purchase during first 12 months/ 60% applies after 12 months/ Credits are forfeited if account is 30+ days past due/ Administrative fee applies separately. If the rented instrument is returned to Tom’s Heirloom Violins and the account is closed, the accumulated rental credit may be applied towards the purchase of a new instrument from Tom’s Heirloom Violins (exclusions may apply). The rental credit expires three (3) months after the rental account is closed and credit from multiple rental accounts may not be combined to purchase a single instrument.


5. Exchanges. The customer may exchange the rental instrument at any time for an instrument of a different size or quality.


6. ADMINISTRATIVE FEE. A $45 non-refundable administrative fee is due at signing/ Fee will be credited toward purchase if instrument is purchased


7. CARE, DAMAGE & LOSS. Instrument remains property of Tom’s Heirloom Violins/ Renter is responsible for damage beyond normal wear/ Renter is responsible for full replacement cost if lost, stolen, or destroyed


8. TERMINATION & RETURN. Lessor may terminate for non-payment/ Instrument must be returned within 48 hours of termination/ Failure to return may result in replacement charges and legal action


9. COLLECTION & LEGAL. Renter agrees to pay reasonable collection costs and court costs. This Agreement is governed by Missouri law


10. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This document contains the entire agreement. No oral changes are valid.
